Greg the Leg for the win
DO YOU BELIEVE IN MIRACLES
This was unbelievable.
I remember watching this at the arena after my team just got off the ice from practice nobody undressed or got out of their uniform and we all squeezed around a tiny tv I’ll never forget that day and that goal he scored to win the game we celebrated like we won gold in our next game we were still so hype about the us beating the Russians the week before and we won 15-2 and would go on to win every single game and won it all in the playoff coach did the herb brooks speech before the championship we won 4-3 after giving up the the tying goal with 23 seconds left we ended up winning in the 3rd overtime never forgot that 14 U season
happy 4th of july to tj oshie
2024 anyone?
Oshie will forever be remembered as the hero of the game but shoutout Quick too, Guy was right there in the trenches with him
10 years later, Bob won his first cup.
Kovalchuk could have been legend...
I cant believe russia didnt have their best player, vladimir vladimirych putin, participate in this match...😂😂😂
TJ was as automatic as it got for the Blues in shootouts around this time!
Most overrated player in recent history
Just a few Hall of Famers out there.
Oshie and Quick, the goats of modern Olympic American hockey
as a kid born in the early 2000s, this is my 1980 us olympic hockey team 😂
Crazy Kane didn’t even get to go once
10 years ago today. Time sure does fly.
anyone got full game highlights of this on nbc where mike emrick announces
Russia
God USA owns Russia in everything😭 but real tho do I miss that Mike and Eddie announcer duo they were money
I watched this live from Wardak Province in Afghanistan..crazy to think back to this time!
6:37 this is still one of the nicest shootout goals I’ve ever seen. Just so smooth with the release, perfectly placed!
I'll remember this moment for the rest of my life. I was 31 years old, when this happened. Noticed that Oshie pointed at Quick after he scored to win this classic.
I seen this live
molodyets
I miss this
I know this is about TJ. But can we discuss what a nightmare facing Datsyuk, Kovi, and Malkin is?
Classic
I'm watching this 9 years later and 1 day before the 2023-24 NHL season kicks off and this shootout is still one of the most legendary moments in hockey I've ever seen. What an epic battle of rock-paper-scissors between Bob & Oshie.
I’m playing NHL 20 (because I refuse to buy any of the new ones) and I just lit the lamp with Oshie and went “wait a second” and came here lol
One of the most underrated clutch moments in sports history. Can't believe it's not talked about more
It's because our magical undefeated gold medal run was abruptly halted in the semi finals in a loss to Canada and then embarrassed further in a Bronze medal loss to Finland. Nobody wants to remember that. This game would be talked about so much if we won Gold that year. Jonathan Quick, Patrick Kane, Joe Pavelski, Ryan Miller, TJ Oshie, Phil Kessel, etc. That team was stacked and arguably better than the 2010 team (except maybe not having Brian Rafalski for 2014). It's unfortunate we didn't show up when it mattered.
he could probably kill you with a puck if he wanted 😶
Nothing better then watching the Russians get knocked out
It amazes me that they didn’t use Kane once
I remember on the national news the following night, they said, “We’re going to end tonight’s broadcast by showing you the shootout between Team USA and Team Russia in its entirety in case you missed it.” My parents are not hockey fans, and they were riveted. The NHL is so foolish for not letting the players compete in the Olympic Games any longer. It’s the greatest 2-week advertisement for the sport of hockey you could ever hope for.
Americans suck😊
Did you watch this in bizzaro land or opposite-day or something? 😅🎉🇺🇸
4th of July ritual.
fear the americans

As a lifelong wings fan, watching Datsyuk play against the team I feel the most loyal to (USA) made me feel very, very conflicted lol
And after he said the real heroes are the people in camo and I’m not one of them.
❤
I can remember this like it was yesterday!! Gotta love TJ!!
CLASSICS!!
the shootout that made TJ Oshie!
Oshie, Carlson, and Ovechkin pre Stanley Cup.
I do not watch Hockey but I watched this live ...TJ Oshie will forever be an American hockey legend
I watched this at harrahs pool in Atlantic city. What a week that was! Lost 5k and when i left to come home i had 3 flat tires. Had to have my car towed to some garage in the slums around AC. I had no cash to pay so my friend lent me cash and i gave it back when we got back. There was no venmo then
I remember being a little kid watching this :)
By moving off the center line he forces the goalie to constantly reposition himself in his goal blindly. The goalie drifts a little to either post he abuses the gap that he made, if the goalie is focusing on staying center he just shoves it 5 hole, and while the goalie is so focused on the shot the move can be as simple as he wants cause the goalie will be late to react. Its a really short interaction so all the details matter and he is the absolute best to ever do it. Its not flashy because its effective, theres no tricks to it its just 7 really good options that look exactly the same and are all great. Its like if a pitcher had 7 really good pitches, its untouchable, youre just guessing.
The NHL and its owners took the possibility of these games in the future away from us by taking players out of the Olympics. Greedy Bettman strikes again.
Kovulchuks change up goal was way underrated
